Brief Description
Come join us in downtown Athens, GA for the 12th Annual Burnin’ Up the Blacktop 5K. The start/finish is located at Fire Station #1, which is located at 700 College Avenue, Athens, GA 30601. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation.
Series affiliation
The race is part of the 2012 Black Bag Race Series and the 2012 Run and See Georgia Grand Prix.
Parking
There will be adequate parking at several lots in the downtown Athens area. All are within 2 blocks of the registration site. Please do not park at the Athens-Clarke County Fire Department, Station #1.
Additional Information
The now famous “Firefighter Bobble Heads” will be awarded to Overall M/F, Masters M/F, Grand Masters M/F, and top three M/F in age groups beginning 10 and under through 75 and over. Finish line management provided by Classic Race Services with complete results posted online at www.classicraceservices.com, www.active.com, www.runningintheusa.com, and www.coolrunning.com. Packet pickup and race day registration will begin at 6:30AM. Course maps will be available on race day.
