Maybe you heard that the Athens Orthopedic Clinic (AOC) Sports Performance and Rehabilitation Center (SPARC) opened about six months ago, but do you know what they do there? SPARC offers clients access to world-class experts in sports performance training, nutrition, massage, and physical therapy.

AOC wanted to create an environment that could reduce the risk of recurring injuries in youth and high school athletes as well as provide a more science-backed approach to fitness and sports programs.  To do that, they hired Olympic and World Champion Adam Nelson to oversee the facility.  All their programs begin with an initial assessment that allows the SPARC specialist to determine the appropriate starting point for training.  Clients then have a variety of training options to choose from, including team, small group, and private training sessions.

There are also multiple a la carte services in nutrition counseling, massage therapy, advanced athletic VO2 Max testing, running gait analysis, and Dexa Scans to measure bone density.  The facility is the first of its kind in Athens and one of the few in the Southeast.  For more information, check out their website at www.sparcathens.com.
